Wee Care FAQs

Who is Wee Care?

Wee Care is a weekday preschool ministry of University Baptist Church that seeks to partner with parents in the spiritual and educational development of their young children.

Are you open on Friday?

No, Teacher inservice and staff meetings are conducted on Fridays.

Does my child have to be potty trained?

Children 3 years and older as of August 1, must be potty trained.

Why is tuition the same payment whether it is a full month or a partial month like December and May.

Tuition is divided into nine equal payments by taking the number of allotted school days x our daily rate and then divide it into the 9 equal payments for September-May. This breaks down to roughly $30-$36/day. This means the tuition will be the same regardless of school days in the month.

Will my child be ready for Kindergarten?

Wee Care is a play based learning facility that focuses on growth in all developmental domains through learning centers. Classrooms are structured in a learning center format that supports the Arkansas Child Development Early Learning Standards (Found Here). In the PK4 classrooms we use the Kindergarten Readiness Indicator List (Found Here) provided by the Arkansas Department of Education to support children with Kindergarten readiness. It is our aim for children to be socially and emotionally ready to enter into the primary years of education with a love of learning!

Is Wee Care a quality rated child care program?

Yes, Wee Care is happy to be part of the Arkansas Better Beginnings quality rating system. We are considered a one star facility and due to our faith based status we have chosen to stay at this level. However, we do operate with full quality in mind with policy and procedures set in place to provide the best care for our families. This includes a parent handbook, parent events, monthly newsletters, state approved curriculum, employee handbook, salary pay for staff and yearly educational training for all staff.

What safety procedures do you have in place to ensure the safety of my child?

Wee Care is a secure facility with locked doors during school hours as well as secure check in and out procedures. We also have further emergency policy and procedures in the Employee and Parent handbook which can be viewed HERE. As a ministry of University Baptist Church all staff are required to take the Ministry Safety training. As a licensed facility all staff must successfully complete and be approved through the following check by the state of Arkansas: child maltreatment checks, criminal record check and FBI fingerprint check. Wee Care also strives for 95% of the teaching staff to be certified in first aid and CPR.

What is your staff to child ratio?

Wee care strives for classroom ratios set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Found Here

What curriculum do you use?

Wee Care uses two curriculums. First, as a ministry of UBC Wee Care is Gospel centric in our focus. Therefore our faith based curriculum is Truth 78 (Found Here) . This curriculum focuses on both Old and New Testament Bible stories that have a Christ connection threaded throughout. The Christ Connection is what we call Gospel Truths. The Truth will be highlighted in each story and will have scripture memory as a component. It is our goal to support families with instilling these truths into the young hearts of the children.

Secondly we use a state approved curriculum called Adventures in Learning (Found Here). This curriculum matches with the developmental milestones for your child’s age. The milestones can be found within the Child Development Early Learning Standards.

Can I tour the facility before enrolling?

Yes, we welcome families who are interested in Wee Care to tour and make sure we are a good fit for your family. We love to see children on the tour as well. We do ask that you contact our office to set up a time or check availability before coming in for a tour.
