All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

–    2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible Training Institute (BTI) is UBC’s comprehensive teaching through the whole Bible in 9 months, led by the pastors of UBC, open to every member of UBC. Over the course of the training year, we will walk through most books of the Bible verse-by-verse, and through a smaller portion of books in overview form. The goal is to joyfully worship and follow the Lord by learning, believing, and delighting in His word together.

On Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45am we will cover New Testament (Brad Wheeler and Nick Roark), and Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:15-7:45am we will cover Old Testament (John Henderson and Mike Griffis). On 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday mornings of every month from 6:15-7:45am we will cover Wisdom Literature (Stephen Martin and Cole Penick). We will be able to cover many books of the bible verse-by-verse, while covering a portion of books in overview form. Our prayerful desire is to teach the whole counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation, with varying degrees of depth, across two semesters.

Participants will commit to either one track, or to a combination of the tracks, or to the whole training: New Testament, Old Testament, Wisdom Literature. For example, you could take Old Testament and Wisdom literature this coming year, then take New Testament next year in order to get through the whole bible in two years. Or you could participate in the whole training in one year. Though circumstances can arise where participants need to withdraw from the training, we do ask for every participant to commit to finishing the track they start. We recommend that anyone interested in long-term ministry or cross-cultural training participate in the whole training.

Registration is now closed for the ’23-24 fall/spring year.

If you have any questions, contact Nick Roark, Associate Pastor of Membership and Adult Equipping.
